back ground, last summer i replaced the front and rear motor mounts. The front one went in without a problem, however the rear which was supposedly meant for the GT with MT didn't bolt in, the studs were too short. The store said that the mounts for automatic and manual transmissions may have been listed backwards. I ended up getting the listed for the automatic transmission. Near the beginning of december the engine started knocking around again, so i took a look and the mount has ripped straight down through the rubber. I know the mount is really made for the auto trans cause it has significantly less rubber, but it was the only one of the 2 that would bolt in. I got the mounts from CarQuest.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and does anyone know what auto parts store will have the rear motor mount with studs long enough to bolt in? This post has been edited by barterj: Jan 28, 2011 - 1:13 PM |
