So the other night I hit a pot hole in the rain, and ever since my car has been making a weird creaking and clicking noise when I turn the wheel more than 90 degrees. Any thoughts as to what it might be?
I know my front struts are about to go, but I think it's something else. |

Is it when theres load on it as in you go hard around a left hand corner it will make it on the right when you can feel the weight transfer to that side? that would most likely be bearing.
If It was the outer CV it would do it load or no load and most probably only at slow speeds doing sharp turns. Its possible the bearing won't show play but it could also show play so check it, jack it up and wiggle the wheel, if you are unsure of movement check the other side but its pretty noticeable. Axle boot could be split but it could of seperated the CV inside the boot but I'd say there'd be more problems than just noises lol. As for your other problems, your calipers are probably clicking because the pad/shims are moving, this can usually be fixed from grease/anti squeal and copper grease but it again could be something else. Power steering could be the rack or the pump or it could just be low on fluid, check the fluid! Hope I've been of some help. |
