I have been in the stereo business professionally for about 5 years now which isnt a terribly long time, but i have heard a lot of stuff and the best inexpensive components for the money has been the Memphis Power Reference components for around $120, not only that, if you have them installed by an authorized dealer they come with a lifetime -yes lifetime- warranty. They have excellent midbass response and a post-break-in improvement like I have never seen. In fact, we put a set in a chevy truck last week that sounded extremely good for the money.

FOR BEST POSSIBLE SOUND, don't worry about the rear speakers. Spend all your money on a good set up front. I compete in MECA sound quality and the JBL power series components are an amazing set around $200-$250. I run them currently, and have no speakers in the rear. Do not put 8's in your doors, unless you plan to dynamat the crap out of them or build enclosures in your door, most all car audio 8" subs are not designed for infinite baffle applications anyways and would sound terrible.

JBL power series are rated down to 45 Hz, but play with STRENGTH to 40. And right now they are doing it straight off of my sony GT430ui head unit. Get the jbl's you will NEVER regret it. Just found a set of the previous model to the current ones for a steal!! http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_..._JBL_P650C.aspx

here's the current year model for a fantastic price, with which you would gain 4dB 1W/m sensitivity http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_..._JBL_P660c.aspx
