Hey!
I never wired any car speakers before. I bought 4 x 6.5 speakers and I'm planning to wired them up tonight. I removed the door panel and I seen some green and white wires. What do you have to do to get the speaker working?( connect what wire etc etc) |

Do you have a multimeter? you can figure out your polarity with one
Theres a connector on the stock speaker wires, i cut it off the back of the old speakers and solder it to the plugs for the new speakers (theyre little crimps that slide down on the new speaker's terminals) Theres a how-to guide on this site for removing the door cards, for the rear speakers you just need to peel off the speaker covers to reveal a large bolt - undo this bolt and you can peel back the plastic panel -------------------- Mike W

If you want to figure out the polarity of your factory wiring (in any car), cut the factory wiring near the speaker and touch a 9v battery to the wires to the speaker. If the speaker pushes FORWARD, the polarity of the wires is matched to the battery's polarity. If the speaker pulls INWARD, you're touching the battery's negative to the speaker's positive, etc. Just write down which speaker wire color was touching which battery terminal. |
