Hey guys,

I'm new here and wanted to get something straight. Are the 7A-FE motors from 90's Corolla the same as the 7A-FE in the Celica's? I have a 97' ST Celica that threw a rod bearing and I'm looking for a replacement engine. Would it be safer to buy a OBDII 7A-FE from another Celica or would a 94-95 Corolla motor do?

If a Corolla motor will do, what are some of the things I would need to use from the Celica 7A-FE to work with the 7A-FE in the Corolla motor?

Any info would be appreciate. Thanks!

I'm looking to do a swap. The donor car being a 1996 Corolla 7afe. The car it will be going into is a 1996 Celica that already has the same 7afe. I haven't looked too much at the coroll but i did notice the map sensor is a bit smaller and different, other than that things look the same. I get work release from jail everyday so i'm lookin to get this all done in 1-2 days. I've done a few engine swaps and builds so i'm wondering what problems i'm going to have that anyone knows of before i start at it? I know i could play around and take my time and read an fsm on both but kinda short on time. Thanks
