Im sure some others may be pondering the same question.
How loud does an aftermarket header make the 5sfe 2.2l on our celicas? What muffler/exhaust can be used to keep the car not very loud with a deep tone. Any suggestions would be awesome. |

So with a header and intake on the 5s, with just a generic canister style muffler, is it gunna sound a good loud? or a bad loud?

If that makes any sense haha. i had probably the most setups for this possible.. 1 stock manifold, stock piping until resonator, then 2 1/2 back to a magnaflow (quiet but had a nice growl) 2stock manifold, stock piping with NO resonator, then 2 1/2 back to the magnaflow. (sounded the best out of all the designs i had.) 3 header, no cat, no resonator, 2 1/2 piping to magnaflow. (so loud i couldnt talk to the pasenger @ 50mph) 4 header, nocat, resonator(stock one) 2 1/2 piping to magnaflow. (had it on for about 7 months, sounded like a subaru sometimes. i liked it) http://www.youtube.com/user/alpinecelicagt...u/2/fjTgydQU98Q ( fast forward to 3 mins, this is what #4 sounds like under heavy accel.) and finally #5 header, no cat, magnaflow in the middle of the car 2 1/4 inch piping back to the stock muffler (imo feels like this one makes the car much much faster off the line and through the power band. also doenst sound bad at all) This post has been edited by 4-eyed-freek: Apr 8, 2011 - 7:38 AM -------------------- It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road.
