just as the title, due to the top mount inter-cooler setup on the 3sgte, is the GT4 style hood required for optimal performance?

forget the hood, to you guys its all aesthetics. it comes from rallying where highly strung 350+ HP engines run at high power for long periods of time and engine bay heat becomes an issue.
Unless you plan on running your engine at 7000+ RPM with ultra stoich AFR's (on the brink of detonation with maximum ignition advance) and 22+ psi all day long then yeah you might have a heat problem. And no, no fitment issues. a 3 point strut brace sits higher than the charge cooler, yet every man and his dog has one, and only a handful have gt4 hoods. -------------------- Mike W
