Ok, so really I don't have the budget to buy new rims for my gt4.
I have the oem rims on it, I thought I'd follow a guide from the forum and paint them semi-gloss black to fit with the spoiler mount blocks and the set of lips and side skirts I ordered today...what do you guys think? |

I run 215 on 6.5 in wide tires, doesn't it make the same contact patch size than 215 on 7?
Would a 10mm width difference do that much? What's the friction coefficient and the total added area with this size difference on 16in dia. Wheels? Unless we're trying to optimize smthg for racing, i think it just doesn't mather that much.. -------------------- -PHILI- |

My thoughts exactly. I like the look of the 7th gen gts wheels over the stock gt4 rims. Delusionz, I understand what you are saying but really what is the difference between running something like 215/50's on a 6.5 or 7.5 wide rim? Same road contact isnt it? Also bear in mind 99% of the roads over here are not suitable (legally) for running the GT4 to anywhere near its full potential. Unless I find some track time somewhere I am limited to looking good and having the performance variable there for bragging rights, so I have decided to run with the 7th gen rims until I find something really nice in the stock width and offset to replace them. Anyways back to your convo -------------------- ST205 Crew represent

Yes it is, but why would you ever put 215 over 6.5? why not, why would you put 215 on 7? looks? Maybe cause those freaggin 7th gen gt-s wheels are 6.5 and cheap and easy to find and better looking than oem gt wheels wich also have arttarded dimensions? whats the point..
