Well financially speaking it is hard not to have financial interests in middle east.
That entire zone albeit fragmented and in conflict for many years is filled with rich deposits of just about everything that is precious. Gas, Oil, precious minerals. Afganistan alone has huge deposits of in demand lithium and gold. Of course it is harder to pitch non humanitarian interests to public but middle east to the world is nothing more than a giant precious great tasting natural resource pie dressed up in humanitarian white lab coat. -------------------- Captain Pessimist
