Hey guys, I'm new here. I'm in the market for a sixth gen Celica soon, and since I'm just one ferry-ride away from the UK (I'm from Holland), I'm thinking about importing a GT4.
There's just one thing I really can't seem to adapt to; the GT4's front bumper. I just don't like the hole in the middle. I know it has its purpose, but what I wanna know is this: Does a normal bumper from any 6th gen N/A Celica (facelift or pre facelift) fit on a GT4 without too much hassle, and does it have a significant impact on performance (like airflow)? I hope you guys can help me out! Regards, Michael |

Find a good-condition ST202 bumper and hood in the same body color and save the cost of prep and paint, and then research well into implementing the idea. If I recall correctly, a stock 3S-GTE, meaning top mount and all, will not clear the hood.
Maar, ik wens je veel geluk. This post has been edited by SwissFerdi: May 23, 2011 - 8:23 PM -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

I'll definitely keep looking into this and get some more opinions. |

Welkom mede-Nederlander!!!
The gap in the gt4 bumper definitly serves a purpose. Cooling!!! You need as much cooling as you can get, to keep engine bay temp down. The gap in the bumper cools down the top of the radiator and blows away the hot air from the turbocharger, so the air can escape through the vents in the hood. The lower gap cools down only the lower radiator, the ic radiator and most probably the aircon condensor. Airflow after those 3 radiators is not sufficient enough to force the air to go out. If you drive like my grandma, you won't have any problems with cooling and you can fit a "closed" 6th gen bumper. Otherwise you need as much cooling as you can. (pm me maar als je meer wilt weten over een gt4, heb er zelf 1 nml.) This post has been edited by nsxtypeR: May 24, 2011 - 10:30 AM -------------------- JDM ST205
