So orginally the timing belt was too tight, this was due to tensioner being for a second gen, which is not interchangeable. so im debating on using the oem tensioner, looks to be in good shape and once its pressed back in it should be good right? the motor only has 50k miles on it so thoughts?

first off if you send me your email i can send you the st205 manuals.
ok now to the problem. did you reset the tensioner? you will have to remove it and pretty much put it in a vise to get it to go back in, and then put some type of pin or paper clip or something in it to get it to stay so you will have enough slack to get it on. if you do that then you should have plenty of room to move the tensioner pulley to get the belt on unless its just not the right belt. i couldnt get the files small enough to send in an email so i uploaded them so you can download them. its engine and chassis. http://www.2shared.com/document/XJR02HzD/RM398E.html http://www.2shared.com/document/cUCkh-UH/RM399E.html This post has been edited by ST205WRC: Jun 23, 2011 - 7:20 AM |
