So orginally the timing belt was too tight, this was due to tensioner being for a second gen, which is not interchangeable. so im debating on using the oem tensioner, looks to be in good shape and once its pressed back in it should be good right? the motor only has 50k miles on it so thoughts?

make sure you mark the old belt prior to removal. It can be a major pain to put these belts back on in exactly the same spot, and marking the old belt with save you a lot of trouble.

thats only if you take the old belt off and re-use it. a new belt is not going to have marks.

just set your crank at TDC and match the cam gear up with the mark and you will be dead on.
