So orginally the timing belt was too tight, this was due to tensioner being for a second gen, which is not interchangeable. so im debating on using the oem tensioner, looks to be in good shape and once its pressed back in it should be good right? the motor only has 50k miles on it so thoughts?

u sure the belts are the same? try rotating the intake cam a lil to relocate the slack.
