Wanting other peoples advice for my 5SFTE that I've just got going. Curious to know what sort of timing curve people run, I use a Emanage so it is a correction map rather than a timing map. Running stock fuel pressure regulator because I can't understand why most people use an after market one, maybe someone can enlighten me? The engine pings under boost yet I have pulled the timing back 13 degrees and see a AF ratio of 12 on the AEM wideband gauge. I run 98RON fuel. It is in a ST204 celica.

Also curious to know what plugs and plug gaps people run in such a motor. I've got copper in a NGK 7 heat range, gapped to 0.028"

Had a misfire under boost, changing the leads (which were near 10 years old) fixed this.

If anyone wants my experience on this to date I'm happy to share.

WAlbro fuel pump
550cc RX7 injectors
JZA80 Supra turbo MAP sensor
emanage blue
single entry (chinese) CT26
Front mount intercooler
BOV chinese copy of SSQV
Relocated oil filter
Stock oil cooler retained
Both factory fans retained
Oil to air cooler added
power steer cooler re-located

you have all the supporting mods. and your AF should be in the 11s as for timing, keep pulling it back until the pinging stops. i have been fighting the stock ECU too with the AEM FIC. the engine is out of the car now cause im painting it, but if i put the 5S-FTE back in then ill finish my work on converting the AEM EMS for the 3S-GTE to run the 5S.
