Hello everyone,
I have had problems with my Evaporation system, and my mechanic said he would need to replace the charcoal canister and the VSV Valve. I have a tech manual that I've been looking through and I've been searching on the web and found a good deal on the canister at toyota parts barn. I found another name for the charcoal canister, which is the vapor canister, and I'm thinking that the VSV Valve migh have another name. Or is the VSV valve included in the vapor canister?

Not really, the charcoal canister is just a filter in a can. Activated charcoal, actually.

The canister is cleaned by firing 294 kPa (3 kgf/cm2, 43 psi) of compressed air into port A (port on the same side as the bracket) while holding port B closed. The air will come out the bottom of the canister, so you'll want it disconnected from the system. Testing is pretty simple: blow in port A and air should flow out of the other ports. Blow into port B and it should not. Unless the canister is cracked or activated charcoal comes out the ports when you're blowing into them, it's fine.

Ask your mechanic what's actually wrong with it.
