So been doing some searching and found a site that shows how to convert the e154f to fwd, using mr2 diff and cover plate.
has anyone on here actually done this? im quiet interested in doing this conversion to keep the low mileage tranny that came with the clip, and no this will not burn the diff up since it will be swapped. or any thoughts on this? -------------------- 1996 Toyota Celica Project Mean Green

there is a " cheat " way of doing this,
you jsut need to separate the bell housing,, basically undo all the bolts holding the bell housing in place ( as you did ) then with a flashlight, look inside the small opening, look for a metal peice attached to the bell housing by 2 10 or 12 mm bolts, undo those bolts and the bell housing will come off, now, remove the diff and replace it with a LSD diffent and re install the bell housing,, then re do the metal piece again ( this is tought and takes time ) you have to install the peice back again the way it was, and secure it through the small opening, then close the trasn, spin the shaft to make sure everything is aling ( while in neutral ) is everything checks out, close your trans. follow proper bolting techiniques and don't over torque the bolts, make sure the case is closing evenly ( that was my mistake ) and dont forget the magnet, you can easily lose it as it will fall off once the bell housing is separated. -------------------- ![]() |
