i was skimming through the forums and saw a topic on converting US spec celicas to all wheel drive using the all-trac drivetrain. i read that the possibility of the conversion working was slim to none. i thought it would be easier to convert it to rear wheel drive using the old jdm corolla(AE86) drivetrain. i was wondering if this was more feasible than all wheel drive.

Tis the reason why I said it would be no different between any of the celicas, whether they're gt-4s or not (aside from FR Celicas). The only other difference would be the rear-ends, in which case, would be slightly easier on a GT-4 considering there will already be places to mount a rear-drive system, if not use the exsisting one. I'm guessing even you yourself aren't too sure what's involved, considering your posts... but that's ok. I assumed most people already realised that most if not all RWD trannies require the engine to be mounted longitudinally... so a RWD conversion would also require it... That means, everything under the hood will be custom, from motor mounts, tranny mounts, intake manifold (exhaust and turbo plumbing if a turbo motor is used), accessory placements, cooling lines/plumbing, wiring, firewall mods, etc... Basically, wake up and smell the coffee cause it's not gonna happen. It'll be wayy to expensive and the results will not be any greater than say buying a Supra or something... it'll be unique... but a very expensive unique... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl...
