My initial thoughts on this would be to make some clear (as to not detract significantly from the look of the car) body panels to improve aerodynamic efficiency... but I have a separate thread for that http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...mp;#entry928769
I post here however to discuss engine mods. Any ideas or thoughts on this? I was thinking of maybe advancing the ignition timing a bit to burn hotter, increase hp and hopefully mpg, but idk. Does a good CAI help? or a larger O.D. exhaust? What have you guys done? -------------------- |

Yeah, the first trip I took gave me 35 mpg which I thought was a mistake. The second trip was the one to Santa Monica Pier which was 36 mpg. It could be my driving habit when driving up. I don't try to pass anyone nor do I ever punch the gas pedal when entering the highway on those long trips. I like to relax when driving, plus I just love crusing in the vert. When back at home I hit the gas pedal harder.
Extra note: Driving to LA was with the top up. It was down in Santa Monica and china town. The vert is also an automatic. -------------------- 1990 Celica Turbo All-Trac, 1977 Celica GT Liftback, 1999 Celica GT Convertible, 2004 Lexus IS300 5-Speed |
