Not an MR2, but I figured you guys would enjoy drooling over this just as much as we are
We have been working on a fairly extensive compound turbo setup on a customer's Supra for the last couple months. We've kept it under wraps for a while and will be slowly releasing information on the build. There are a few things being done on this car that make it the first of it's kind in the world. Keep your eyes peeled. So far: * 3.3L VVTi 2JZ-GTE built engine & head * Hypertune large port intake manifold * Direct port methanol injection in second fuel rail * Methanol injected pre-turbo and post intercooler * Custom setup Motec ECU and logging/monitoring tools * HRE Wheels * Custom Penske coilovers * Custom EMSPowered compound turbo kit * Comp Billet Ball Bearing 6465 small turbo * Comp Billet Ball Bearing 8283 large turbo * EMSPowered custom made twin-scroll equal length manifold leading to the small turbo with high precision CNC machined head flange * EMSPowered custom made up-pipe leading from the small turbo to the large one (we've nicknamed this guy the octopus, you'll see why when we post photos of it) * Quickspool valve on the large turbo * EMSPowered custom made 4" v-band downpipe * EMSPowered custom 4" midpipe with 4" boost actuated dump * EMSPowered custom 4" to dual 2.5" y-pipe to join to factory muffler for street driving * EMSPowered custom 4" b-pipe and muffler for race days * Ceramic coated downpipe and full exhaust * Ceramic coated both exhaust manifolds * Ceramic coated turbine housings * Custom built inconel heatshields for manifolds and turbine housings * Two 60mm TIAL v-band wastegates * One 44mm TIAL MVR v-band wastetgate * EMSPowered custom made 5" intake pipe & filter with v-band at the turbo connection * EMSPowered custom made intercooler with hand formed end-tanks and Wiggins clamps everywhere * EMSPowered custom made upper and lower radiator hard pipes with Wiggins clamps * EMSPowered custom made oil catch can * EMSPowered custom made coolant overflow * EMSPowered custom made power steering reservoir * EMSPowered custom made coolant swirlpot * EMSPowered custom made fuel filter mount and skid plate * EMSPowered custom made methanol pump mount and skid plate * EMSPowered custom made methanol fuel cell in trunk area behind rear seat * EMSPowered custom made battery tray and fuse box tray in trunk area * EMSPowered custom made mounts for Penske coilover reservoirs * EMSPowered custom 4 point roll cage built to exceed NASA specs * Custom hidden/stealth parachute mount built into trunk floor * Oil cooler custom mounted with custom built EMSPowered duct/shroud * Wrinkle black powdercoated water neck and radiator pipes * Wrinkle black powdercoated charge pipes * Wrinkle black powdercoated intercooler endtanks * Wrinkle black powdercoated radiator endtanks * Recaro leather racing seats * Custom racing harness There is lots more being done to this car that I'm . This is just a short list of some of the more important performance modifications. Some photos: -------------------- |

Sequential and compound turbo setups are totally different. Let me know if you need a brief description and I'll do my best to explain the difference. I'll look and see if we have any good photos of the finished manifolds without turbos attached for you. I feel I have somewhat of a rough idea of what your system is doing. Not being able to follow the flow perhaps is throwing me off. But when I try to follow it almost seems as if its both probably because of all the wastegates you have on it. Orange is first inlet charge, brown takes charge into 2nd turbo, compressing it more and then purple takes the exponentially charged air through the IC past the throttle body into the engine. Red Exhaust goes from block to first turbo, light blue it goes from first turbo to 2nd spooling it up, green wastegates dump to 2nd turbo for full powah. Red Exhaust goes from block to first turbo, light blue it goes from first turbo to 2nd spooling it up, green it finally hits the downpipe.
