After doing a drum to disc convertion i realized my ebrake doesnt brake the car as it used to.
The first problem was that the e-brake handle used to go up too much when i pull it. Fixed by adjusting it by the center console. By adjusting that i thought i was gonna fix the problem but it didnt. The car brakes with the e-brake but it still mooves when i push it hard. Whats wrong? This post has been edited by diegohiga: Sep 9, 2011 - 1:46 PM -------------------- |

The e-brake must also be properly adjusted at the wheel in order to work properly.
With the wheel off, you should find a rubber plug in the rotor hat. Removing this will give you access to the e-brake's adjuster. It's a star-shaped wheel. Use a flathead screwdriver to adjust until the rotor will not turn, then back it off eight notches. This assumes that you installed the rotor so that it is aligned with the access hole in the hub face. If not, you'll have to remove the rotor and reposition it correctly. |
