Well i figured its time to explain why the celica was sold, and what has happened/will happen. I'd like to thank 6gc.net as a whole, it was an AWESOME place to learn new things, without this site, my 14 year old self may have never gotten into cars. Id like to personally thank MaskedMan, D-man, 808celica, SeverX13, NgoFcukinWay, DEATH, njccmd2002, even the rican. Im sure i missed people, but you know who you are. Its been an awesome 4 years(even though im not leaving) From calling jon to help me replace my wheel stud, to Johnathon helping me diagnose my idle issue, to even 6gc gossip with derrick, you all helped me get my celica to where it was and i couldn't have done with without you all. Thanks guys. /teh ghey
-----------------------------------------------PRE STORY---------------------------------------------- For those of you that don't know I took my celica from this: To this: Doing ALL the work you see, paint, exhaust, interior, ect. EVERYTHING over the course of 3 years myself(my brother did shoot the paint however).Anyway, after my first year in college i realized i don't daily drive anywhere as I'm in the dorms, so I really don't need an economical car. With my celica being a ST AND a coupe i was fairly limited as far as performance and looks in my mind. After driving my brothers 97 cobra while the celica was being painted i realized i loved the feel of heavy powerful rwd sports cars(June 2010).Right after this i discovered the mk3 supra, a cheap, and very fast car if you can do the work and maintenance yourself. After looking for one ever since june 10', in may 2011 i had a friend i met through the supraworld offer me a 1987 Toyota supra turbo 5 speed shell with 112k on it for 125$. I immediately jumped on it and picked it up: I really like this picture, as it shows the sexy moded celica, and a supra under a tarp...waiting.. Had plans to rebuild the car for resale and to use the profit to buy myself a targa supra(i HAD to have a targa). A few weeks later i was browsing and found a guy getting utterly flamed on SupraMania after "his brother took his supra out and blew it up" and then cried because of it, as he had another supra that blew up. The kid was so angry with supras he put everything up for sale, but at normal prices(1k for the stock car, 2k for the moded). After being flamed again in his FS thread he took them down. I Pmed him half joking, being myself, and offered 500$ for both cars with blown engines...Well looky here: So as of june i owned 3 non running supras and my celica. When i got home for the summer I pieced the 2 engines together(one had a bad head gasket, and one had rod knock) to hopefully make 1 strong engine to put in the blue car. No such luck: Blue car running with what turned out to be Rod Knock. At this time i put the blue car up for sale as a roller for 300$, and it sold(new owner STILL hasnt picked it up). In early July i decided to put my celica up for sale. It was very hard to do, as my dad owned it for over 11 years before me, and i learned to drive on it. But this weekend( July 23rd) it sold to a dad and son looking for a good first car for 2700$. In the meantime the white car got scrapped for 300$ and i had around 4 grand to get my red car up and running. ---------------------------------------------Actual build------------------------------------------- Now enough with the stories, onto my red supra build. The car is a 1989 toyota supra turbo 5 speed targa top with tems.Bought for around $150 as a roller. Car has 24x,xxx on it and a salvaged title. It was involved in a pretty bad rear end accident, but luckily no frame damage. After the blue and white car money came in I purchased a recently rebuilt 7mgte from the same friend that sold me the blue car, the engine is said to have 10k on a full engine importer rebuild. This weekend, after saying goodbye to the celica, I've kept myself busy and not thinking about my heresy by buying a lot parts(hehe) and getting the new 7m ready to go into my new car. The car will be getting a 5 speed with a ACT stage 3 clutch, a stock exhaust with a 3r muffler( for smog, then ill be going a full straight 3.5" system after smog is gone). The car: Parts being painted: Helicoiled exhaust studs: Engine slowly going together: New black dash<3: 5 speed getting ready to go in: In: 3.5" exhaust: The plans for the car are to slowly build it the same way i built the celica, almost exactly the same, except this time i have a large chunk of change to play with. Near future plans include: Tein coilovers Double din Some kinda flush wide black rims Aftermarket FMIC whaletail wing and new front grille insert Viper 2 way alarm Full LED conversion(already ordered) Dark candy red paint job Tint 350rwhp as a goal Future plans(1-2 year +): A fully built 2jzgte, 700rwhp at high boost I hope to have the engine in the bay tomorrow night, and having running in 2 days, then i can buff the car and get some good pictures and videos >:). Hopefully the supra will treat me as well as the celica did. As some of you know, letting a celica go is very hard because they are so damn reliable, and have so much character, but just not enough potential in my mind. I will be getting back into the celica world in a few years when I'm out of college and need a Daily driver again, but don't any of you worry, especially you manny, i wont be leaving this site . its GTE not GTTE, you already come off as a newb! and why on earth would you install the VVT 2JZ-GTE? again another NEWB move!! the VVT engine is not as strong at the legacy ones. plus there is so much more wiring involved. if you are going to get an NA supra, just boost the NA engine. its so much cheaper and still very reliable! but hey spend 10,000 bucks when you dont have to

When in reality the VVTI is just as strong and has a much better powerband. Plus my importer gets vvtis and I can get the full swap for 2500, so im thinking roughly 4 grand in and running. Idk if its BETTER richee, but with a TT hg it is fine for boosting, and has a higher comp ratio allowing you to run e85. But i want the vvti for the future .
