No offence to any one that is in love with there celi.. I mean i like mine, it handles nice after springs an its fun, but its hella slow. ok, i mean its not a 74 bug, but its not fast or eevry really quick. and i was thinking about a swap, but it seams most people here end up spenging close to 9k, i mean if i could do it for 2.. maybe 3 i would. My real question is who here has just thought screw theceli and get a real sports car? and if so, which?.. Im really thinking about getting a a camaro or firebird, cause no really imports have enough real power. eh just all what iv come too after looking and search for info and prices for swaps. its just not happening

Sorry to say it man, but you kinda contradict yourself a bit. You said that the Celica makes you mad because it burns oil and thats a big problem...but your familys domestics can throw rods and blow transmissions and thats not a major problem. Now, my celica has only ever burned oil once and that was under very hard acceleration which is to be expected, and my transmission is in great shape at nearly 190k with nothing more than routine maintence. Also, the original complaint was that Celicas are slow as hell, and that you want a domestic like a Camaro or Firebird because theyre fast.....so then you said that speed isnt everthing, and really youre more of a crusing type of person really, but you like to race alot.... I just kinda got confused a little, because im not totally sure where your interests lie. If you want something reliable and great for cruising, go get your Celica fixed so it stops burning oil if its a big problem. Also, trying to race alot on an engne like the 7AFE without tons of care could probably induce some premature oil burning problems. However, if speed is your thing than try to find a nice used Eclipse GST/GSX, Eagle Talon TSi, 300zx TT, WRX/Impreza...the list goes on. But, its all up to personal preference to what suits you best. Maybe an ST Celica just isnt the car for you, but there are other great imports/domestics/euros that will make you happy. Just specify your goals first. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |
