The ST205 doesnt have an open center diff. The front is open.
My understanding is that the center diff provides a non adjustable 50/50 power split between the front and rear. If neither front wheels are not moving and the rear is, for a significant period of time you're going to burn up the differential. It's why handbrake turns arent recommended because you lock up the rear wheels but the fronts are still turning. That said i've done this many times, but try not to lock them up for vary long, just enough to get the car rotating properly, but I also have 2 other transmissions sitting in my garage waiting incase I destroy one. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq
