All,
I'm always trying to get more info on the 5sFTE setup. I've read Pressure2's post probably 10 times along with many others. Today I came across this - http://warp.scl.utah.edu/mr2/Turbo5sfe.html What was interesting is under the basic setup portion there is no mention of requiring fuel management or upgraded fuel pump. It also says the 315cc supra injectors will work. It looks really close to the burien setup. My biggest question is how accurate is this statement taken from the post - "Call it the magic square of the 5S-FTE: 5S-FE Computer, 315cc injectors, ct-26 and 2 bar stock turbo MAP sensor. It's a balanced equation and anything else can throw it off." I ask because what this guy did is really similar to what I want to do which is a simple low boost setup using the CT-26. With a similar setup would the stock pump and 315cc injectors with no management system work? Seems to good to be true ![]() I plan to check out www.mr2oc.com (I believe where this guy got this info) however they require membership to view posts and i'm currently waiting for the admin to approve my account. Until then I figured I'd post up here and see what you guys have to say about it. Let me know what you think. -------------------- ![]() |

its old news.
will the car run? yes. will it run efficently? no. would it be better with some form of tuning? yes the fuel pump will be on the ragged edge (just google 3sgte fuel pump test and read the charts that will come up) with the supra 315s, your limited to ~ 195whp before you start leaning out. you can run that setup, as long as you stay at stock ct-26 boost levels (~7-10psi) or so. thing is, nobody stays @ 7psi. yes the car will be faster than stock, but boost is addicting, trust me. when you get your mr2oc membership approved, look for all the threads from past guys, who use this "safe" setup, and end up with blown motors down the road. for every one setup that lasts more than a year or 2, i bet you could find 3 or 4 that didnt. 95% of the stuff you will see about the 5sfte on mr2oc was written before i did my setup. when i did mine, i used all that old info as a base, and improved on it where i thought i could. most of it worked. ![]() -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
