been thinking about swapping a 3vz into my celica
I know the carry an is300 both came with them but was three anything else options on other swaps will be considered too I mainly want something that makes more power than the 5s but I can still order parts for at autozone only other thing is I don't want to spent 5000 on just the swap alone before install just want extra power but have to stay simi cheap (for the price of the swap itself) an be able to dd this for a year or so lol thanks for your help -------------------- 95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy

I didn't bore anything out. I bought a Fidanza unit for a Solara V6 and bolted it on.
And then for it to bolt up properly to the transmission (using the S54) you will need a clutch disk with the same contact surface as the Solara Flywheel. My solution was a Stage 2 Kevlar clutch kit from South Bend Clutch for a MR2 turbo that had been custom splined for the S54. A $700 solution. Or you can get an OEM flywheel from a 2000 Camry V6 on the cheap from car-part.com and run a standard Celica GT clutch kit. You'll have less contact surface to the flywheel and it may slip, but it can be done that way.
