Well some girl in a huge truck rear ended me yesterday in the school parking lot. She thought I had gone but I hadn't and she wasn't paying attention, gassed it, and hit me. There was not even a dent on her truck that I saw.

So anyways I went to get a couple estimates on the damage. The first place said $1700 and the second place said $4700...I'm gonna get one more estimate and see what they say. And of course she is trying to blame me saying I rolled back into her (even though I have an automatic...) but even if I did it would never cause that much damage.

Here are some pics:

QUOTE (Cormudgen @ Feb 7, 2004 - 9:54 PM)
i say no more than $1200 of damage

probaly around $800 is my guess though.

As the second body shop explained to me, to make it look like nothing ever happened they need to replace the whole bumper, taillight, and some metal panel thing that is inside I think....Also the side of the car was bent outward because of the impact, and that also needs to get bent back to normal. And to get it painted correctly they need to paint the entire back end along with up and over the car so it looks natural.

He told me the reason the first shop was so cheap is because they were just going to paint that one spot. Also because they were going to "repair" the bumper, which is very hard because it is torn from the car and cracked in a few places, along with other reasons. You really have to see it up close to tell that there is more than what it looks like.
