I need to replace my rod(broke the bearing). How do i separate the rod from the piston? Similarly, do I need to hone the cylinder if i am replacing the piston with a piston from another 7AFE? (i think its yes, but i just want to make sure) Help is greatly appreciated, i gotta get her running by the end of the week. . .

There is a circlip on the piston holding the gudegon pin in. Remove that, slide the gudgeon pin out, remove rod.

You don't HAVE to, but it's always a good idea when installing a new set of rings to even just give them a light flick with the hone so you have some nice new cross hatching in the bore to help the rings bed in.
