I need to replace my rod(broke the bearing). How do i separate the rod from the piston? Similarly, do I need to hone the cylinder if i am replacing the piston with a piston from another 7AFE? (i think its yes, but i just want to make sure) Help is greatly appreciated, i gotta get her running by the end of the week. . .

nope. sorry to say, but the 7afe pins are pressed in. quite aggrovating since most other are held in by a clip..
yeah you are going to have to press the old pin out and then have the new one pressed back in.. and as long as the other piston is of the same "mark" designation for piston diamiter/ bore then you should be ok.. just make sure it is the same.. say. post a pic of the top of the piston if you can. -------------------- |
