Despite the power difference, I'm surprised that the SS-III left the Miata that far behind. Superstrut must be a lot better through the corners than I give it credit for.

Despite the power difference, I'm surprised that the SS-III left the Miata that far behind. Superstrut must be a lot better through the corners than I give it credit for. It also has alot to do with the track also. The Tsukuba Circuit has alot of hair pin turns where you brake all the way down to first and second gear and accelerate. When most of the turns are like that horsepower really matters. The miata only had 140hp where as the ss111 has around 200 and way more torque. If there was more high speed turns the miata would have stood a better chance. With that said the miata is never a real sports car, its more of a "fun to drive car". You can see the how the race car drivers in that video where laughing the entire time. |
