Last night I was driving home, and when I was pulling up to a red light I shifted the car into neutral (manual) and the rpm's actually went up without my foot on the gas. The engine revved to about 3K and just stayed there until I put my foot under the pedal and lifted it up. After the light changed and I started driving again, it revved up and idled at 3k again. It never passes 3k, but I could pretty much drive the car without my foot on the gas until I lift the pedal back up. Any ideas about this?

The pedal was actually getting stuck??? Stick your head under there and look around, maybe grease up the mechanism, check your throttle body and cable, see if anything is siezed or siezing. I really dont know what else it would be then something mechanical. |
