Last night I was driving home, and when I was pulling up to a red light I shifted the car into neutral (manual) and the rpm's actually went up without my foot on the gas. The engine revved to about 3K and just stayed there until I put my foot under the pedal and lifted it up. After the light changed and I started driving again, it revved up and idled at 3k again. It never passes 3k, but I could pretty much drive the car without my foot on the gas until I lift the pedal back up. Any ideas about this?

I hope u dont make a habit of putting it into neutral, creates more wear and tear on tranny

Ummm.... either you shift into neutral and create "wear and tear" or you keep your foot on the clutch and ruin that faster than it should be. Unless you want to change your clutch every 30,000 miles I think its better to shift into neutral and let it run. Correct me if I'm wrong. Unless your talkin auto tranny then its okay to keep in gear.
