Hello,
I'm new to this forum, but not new to the site or the Celica. I'm 16 years old and I'll be purchasing my car of choice very soon. Out of any car in the world, I'd rather have the 6th gen Celica, the body and look just amazes me. It's 100% class. Anyhow, I have a question that just may decide which car I get. I know there is a 3S-GTE engine swap, and it can produce high numbers. But, I have another in mind. I've been thinking of this engine swap for a while now, but I don't know if it can be done. So, I pop the question. Can I drop the 3.0 Twin Turbo Supra engine into the GT engine bay. Can it be done? Will it work? This question has been plaguing me for a while now, and I just have to know the answers. Thanks, Inferno |

the 3sgte is fairly plug and play as far as swaps go not too much custom work needs to be done with the GT.
the chances of finding a 2jz in a junkyard at a reasonable price is about as likely as it is people learning some good tuning tips from FntF2. plus the entire wiring harness needs to be 100% custom. so hopefully your dad also has a degree or atleast very knowladgable in electrical engineering otherwise thats going to be a big problem, also your firewall will need to be slid backward, you will need to do a complete custom rear end for the RWD, custom interior because im 100% that the gearbox and shift device will be in a completely different spot than stock, basically all that will remain stock on your car is the body the frame and the seats if you were to do this... wait i take that back, by moving the firewall back the body changes, so really the only things the same are the frame and the seats, wait a second, if you are going to drop a 3.0 L engine into a car designed for no bigger than a 2.2L than you will need to reinforce the frame and redistribute the weight a little bit, otherwise you are going to have a front heavy RWD car... so i guess all that will remain stock is the seats... i dont mean to be discouraging, its just that everything IS possable, its just these things do cost an insane ammount of money. id hafta say that kinda job when completed would give you a ride worth approx 150K bucks or more with parts labor customizing etc... im going to be a mechanical engineer, i may come out eventually with the knowladge on how to do something like that, but dreaming thinking and planning something is one thing, and doing it is completely something else... dont stop dreaming -------------------- Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them all No but I don't buy it Like anything you do, as anyone you are Cause I'm...
