Hello Everyone--
I would like to see how many of you would be interested to purchase Colt Cams. This is a great mod, for some the first mod, with great results. It is the biggest bang for the buck. This cam profile is mild enough where getting a piggy back to adjust air/fuel ratio, exhaust, etc. modifications are not necessary, although they do complement it. My goal is to send our cams in by April 15th. This should give most of us time to think, save, and get a set of cams. I purchased a set of cams from another member, so that I can still drive my car. You can also pull out a set from a junk yard, or send in your originals. The higher the number of participants, the higher the leverage I will have to score a deal. I don't know how much cheaper yet, but I will do my best. Info: 5SFE .256 duration .330 lift - $350 5SFE .260 duration .345 lift - $400 3SGTE .260 duration .345 lift - $350 3SGE .260 duration .345 lift - $350 1mz quad cam V6 - intake .262 duration .347 lift exhaust .264 duration .330 lift - $500 We need 6 sets or more (combination of 5sfe, 3sgte, 3sge is okay to get 6 sets) to get the deal excluding 1mz. Need 3 sets or more for the 1mz. Prices include shims and the return shipment. Payment is by money order or check. Turnaround is 2 weeks. Please post if you are interested and let's get a head count. Head count: 1. JasonX - 94 5sfe 2. Syaoran - 93 5sfe 3. 95CelicaST - Need vehicle info 4. Arsaces - 95 5sfe This post has been edited by JasonX: Mar 13, 2012 - 11:28 AM -------------------- |

I went in with no internal experience. Took some trial and error but i got it done, and now I now my way around the top end.
Tuning the SAFC would require a wideband A/F gauge. once you plug in some of the required settings you can then mess with the High and Low throttle curves to adjust the A/F ratio and get it running right. went off on a little rant there, but just letting you know what you are getting into -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

Tuning the SAFC would require a wideband A/F gauge. once you plug in some of the required settings you can then mess with the High and Low throttle curves to adjust the A/F ratio and get it running right. How will the car run with just the cams and no SAFC (From OP it looks like it will run fine)? Can a SAFC be tuned with data from a dyno (will this be cheaper than buying a wideband gauge?)? I don't see much information on actually "tuning" our cars with the SAFC, so I can only assume that there is some simple concept that is followed when tuning + a bit of trial and error. I probably sound very ignorant here, but my Celica is my DD and I can't risk blowing the engine by walking into something like this blind. -Nate |
