know as some of ya'll know i'm not a big fan of the swap but i am planning on building a 7afte.. now here is my question... well its 3

1. Have any of you seen or made a turbo that has a self contining oil system. As to were the oil is taking from some where else that not the engine oil pan.

2. Have you made a tubo box? That is a box that keep the heat sounder around the turbo and out of the engine bay. and so how did you and of what did you make it?

3. Has anyone tried a Vmount for the intercooler and the radiator?

Yes, areochargers are turbos with self contained oiling systems. They also have VATN, variable area turbine nozzles. This is one of the best new ideas in turbocharging in many many years. These things make boost MUCH faster than the best ball bearing turbos.

I wouldn't worry too much about this. If you're really concerned, get a heat blanket for the tubine. I've seen them several places, but don't recall off hand where at. Do an internet search and I'll bet you can find something. They should be much easier to install and more effective than just making a metal shield. If you still insist on making a shield, make it out of stainless. It can mount about any way you can imagine. You could even put it under the bolts that hold the turbine housing on.

Not worth anything but looks. Just buy a good intercooler to begin with and you'll be golden. Make sure you do your homework on intercoolersizing. There is a such thing as too much intercooler. I would also consider making some ducting so that all the air coming in the front of the car must pass through the intercooler and radiator, don't let any of it bleed around.
