Though the 7a shares allot with the 4A (FE&GE/GZE), the issue of "performance" pulleys for the 7a is not a set of parts that can be simply ported over.. the alt and the PS pump are the two that i have found that CAN be shared.. but the main one that would benefit of a more light weight pulley, is the water pump pulley. the 4age (easier to find parts for) has a different configuration for how the belts are run to power the water pump.. and there for the pulley is not the same as our 7a's.

well all of this to say that there is a manufactor that has started to make a set of all aluminum pulley for the 7A.. a FULL set yes its in an "E-bay" store, but cant look a gift horse in the mouth...

this auction is up for 299.. but i had seen em up (for full set still) for 150, and 115... they also have an "OBO" optioin.. i gave it a try and now have a set on its way here...!!!!

Man, I can't wait to see those bad boys.

So is there any underdrive to them? I'd also be wary of the undamped crank pulley, but then I'm on a 230k motor, not brand new.

From what i can tell, there is no underdrive, just a more light weight and cleaner option. ( what i was looking for since this is not an all out race setup ) as for the crank pulley not having a dampener.. well i have not quite decided yet. but think that will not be using the crank just yet.. i have 3 OEM crank pulleys and have picked the one that has the least degradation of the rubber dampener part.. but from the research that i have done, this OEM design of a "dampener" is there to absorb a VERY specific vibration at a VERY specific RPM.. but the design is crap, since that vibration can change due to age of the motor, any modifications done to it. not to mention that the vibration is fleeting.. i know that allot of B18's and B16 have used solid aluminum crank pulleys with out any problems.. but this is not either of those.. i may perhaps not put it on just yet, and when i go to pull the motor later (to drop the beefier internals for the super boost, in about a year.) i'll put this on, since at that time any function that the "dampener" had just went right out the window.. so at that point, any excessive vibrations that would cause damage to the crank , would not be negated by the OEM dampener regardless. and since i also have all of the OEM pulley off ATM i will weigh the combine totals on both sets and post pix and results for everyone.... now just got to wait for the package to get here..
