I'm probably just missing something here, but I can't get the shifter arm out of my shifter assembly. Any pointers?

You have to punch the two (I think there are two) metal sleeves out that are holding the assembly together. They're front and back on the top plastic piece around the fulcrum.

Nah, you only have to punch the big, rear one. I've done it several times.
