guys just wondering if theres anything i can do to regulate my a/f mixture when the car is still cold. im getting readings of 10-10.5 a/f ratio when its cold. its like this until it warms up. when nits nice and warm, my ratios are good, 14.7 at idle.
i know when the car is cold it takes the reading from the o2 sensor to manage the fuel and when its warm it uses the map sensor. so is there a way to trick the car into always using the map readings instead???? im using 460 injectors, stock fpr, and SAFC2 thanks! when is cold, it shoud be running richer, some cars use an extra injector to add extra fuel to help the engine start during cold weather, ( 4th gens had this and maybe 5th gens as well ) our cars just come mapped to dump extra fuel on the 4 injectors to help the engine start, once it warms up the reading would be normal again. you can try replacing the O2 sensors to improve your A/F at idle a little but expect to always see the readings on the rich side when is cold.
dont try to " fool " the o2 sensors, and dont do changes to your fuel map ( assuming you are tuned for your turbo ) during cold weather, because once it warms up, your reading will be very off and could blow your engine. all tuning has to be done at operating temperatures. -------------------- ![]() |
