Bazooka tube Options

Anyone ever install one of those bazooka bass tubes in their celica ?
I want something that will give me some low end without taking up too much trunk space. The bazooka tube seems like it would work well for that.

Bazooka is very low end, low quality company, and that being said, is VERY over priced. If your wanting some extra bass and looking to save room, I highly suggest the Infinity Basslink. Its a 10" sub unit with a built in amplifier designed to work with factory or aftermarket systems. It's a super space saver and can be mounted in all different positions. Infinity is widely known for being one of the leaders when it comes to audio for sound quality plus it won't break your bank. You can buy them new for under $200. I've recommended them to many of my customers and had great reports from all of them. Keep in mind, it's designed to sound a little better than I factory subwoofer would sound. It's for people like me that just want to add some deep, rich bass to their system without sounding like a rap concert is going on in your car. It really fills out that theater surround sound kinda feel if you have the 6 or 8 speaker system.

I was actually JUST reading up on it. Seems like a great little sub, however there are a bunch of negative reviews on amazon from customers that claim to have it fail after a years use or so.

I have read a few negative reviews myself. Usually, if failure does happen, it's with the built in amplifier. In which case people usually just add an outside amp to it. You should look into the Basslink II ... I have personally never seen a faulty unit, but I've read less negative reviews about the second generation. Must have fixed those isolated bugs.

If you have the space, time and money, you can't go wrong with a component set and Infinity's a great choice. Just do your research before you buy. Though Infinity is an amazing brand, some companies are better at certain aspects of audio or their just as good and cost less. Compare them to JBL for instance. JBL has been priced pretty competitiveness lately in my opinion. You also have MB Quart and Pioneers higher end lines for components. All that aside, if your not a complete audiophile, and are suck on hering EVERY note, drum, whistle and fart, I wouldn't spend the money on a component set. You then have to get a separate highs amp and find places for the crossovers, etc. You'd be amazed by the sound you'll get from just upgrading your factory speakers with high end coaxial speakers. You can bring even more sound out by upgrading your factory head unit to one that puts out at least 45 watts per channel. Make sure it's a good brand though so you really get those watts. Also keep in mind you want to take into account how many speakers you have and how many the unit allows. It will usually say "55x4, 45x6, etc". I'm personally happy with the factory head unit with upgraded JBL coaxial speakers. I'm not 18 or 20 anymore so I don't need my speakers to "go to 11" (probably a lost reference). The speakers go WELL beyond the sound level I would ever use with the factory unit. Hope this helped. I'm glad you answer any sound questions you have. If I don't know the answer, I'll find out.

Sorry, I just looked at your links. The Reference line is a decent line and those seemed to be priced well. Just watch Amazon, they sell a lot of out of date merchandise. You know, like "last years model" or even older ... which isn't bad, but they're good at disguising it so if you don't read every detail you end up buying the wrong thing. Nice thing is they have a GREAT return policy and service.
