What you see is the copper wire that makes up the Hall Effect pickup. There is normally a bit of plastic that protects the coil of wire which left us on the track. With that gone, a bit of wire must have snuck out and quickly was collected by the distributor. The coil was collateral damage as you can see it popped.

It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.

Your going to want to replace the whole distributor. Alot of people will say to only get a new one but I would get a remanufactured distributor with a Lifetime Warranty from your local autoparts store. Its gonna run you $200-$300 for a generic distributor that inludes everything except the cap and rotor.

That was the original dizzy.. we ended up driving 2.5 hours round trip to find a replacement distributor at like $200 from a random Autozone so we could get the car back on the track and finish the day. The replacement was actually an OE dizzy "reman'd" but I decided to swap the coil with a brand new one as a tired coil will start to breakdown after heat soaking...
