I had to change the engine in my 95 ST, so i bought a 7A-fe from a junkyard with 30,000 miles from a 97 corolla. The thing is, the mechanic told me that the trans isnt lining up (my ST is manual) and there is a crank sensor or something that might be a problem. Will this engine fit? If not, what mods will be required to make it fit??

my 4age was an auto.... make sure you mechanic is using the flywheel and pressure plate that you had in it before...... not the flexplate and torque convertor, lol

also.... if you don't need the crank sensor then either remove it or cut it off.... you can't use it? ok then remove it..... i have a few sesnors on my 4a-ge that we didn't use no biggy and there are sensors that the ecu is expecting that my 4a-ge isn't delivering... still runs fine.....

also, make sure you mechanic is removing the tranny and not trying to line the engine up in the bay..... at least on the corolla's there's damn near NO room to do so... it's a pain enough to get the motor + trans already connected in..... (beware, there is a tranny mount on the cross member that's hidden, at least on the corolla's... and they use the same if not similar trannies)
