Found out my water pump and head gasket are bad. I was quoted less to buy an engine than to take my chances on the repairs, $700 + $300 labour. I'm going to replace the engine with an imported one at (hopefully) around 70k. Any tips on ensuring the longevity of this one? I put on 50k per year.

do you get a grinding noise, that is also relevant to a bad water pump, or its leaking through the seep holes.

It's cheaper to put in a new 5S-FE for my st204 than to fix this one and take my chances. If I can put together the cash, I should have an imported one in by this Friday. Thanks everyone. |
