These springs just have a different design to what is commonly used. I was just initially asking if there is a risk in the design of those springs I linked to. What I mean is, what are the benefits and/or downsides of so many dead coils. I've read their purpose is to act as a spacer of some kind, similar to what a helper spring does in, for example, a coilover setup. As far as craftsmanship, all spring-making processes are basically fully mechanical. Little human labor is involved.
