Hi ,I have replaced all my pads ,but on the rear callipers the top bolt has a rubber grommet in it and no visible means to undoing it, I replaced the pads by undoing the bottom bolt and lifting the calliper but wondered if there is any way to remove the top bolt Thanks

Hi ,I have replaced all my pads ,but on the rear callipers the top bolt has a rubber grommet in it and no visible means to undoing it, I replaced the pads by undoing the bottom bolt and lifting the calliper but wondered if there is any way to remove the top bolt Thanks its a metal cap, use channel locks and pop it off (dont squeeze too hard though, turn back and forth while pulling back. it sould come off easy) then you will come to what i think is a 12 mm bolt. (i cant remember exactly.) you wont be able to get a normal socket on it though since its inside of some goofy housing (the caliper) what i did was grind down the walls of a normal socket just enough to fit in there, but not enough that it would snap when you tried to use it. good luck This post has been edited by Zake: Jul 5, 2012 - 8:32 PM -------------------- |
