Hey everyone,

I'm looking at buying my third 6th gen celi, but the only turn off is that it's an auto. It's really nice white with leather and side skirts, but the auto trans is a deal breaker for me. I've heard of people doing trans swaps, I'm just wondering if it is fairly easy? Please let me know what to do.

Thanks for any help!!!

cutting out the hole, lifting/maneuvering the tranny etc. it does seem easier on a 6gc than a 7gc though. at least you can reuse the auto axles.

make sure you use the post i put to update the checklist cus there are other small things I listed that were incomplete in previous checklists. I did the swap too so, the older checklists that I used here did not list everything needed because if you don't have a full donor car and you are sourcing out the parts separately, you may miss even just the C-clips for the shifter cables, the ones that hold on the tranny side and the shifter assembly side. small parts will delay your project. You'd be surprised the GT is not that strong either but when you put it on, you'll notice some improvement with the clutch setup. I did it one shot with the 3sgte ST185 lightened flywheel and 3sgte clutch hybrid setup for the S54 but IDK if you have an ST or GT. if stiff clutch is not your idea of a good time, then stick with a stock or OEM-ish feel clutch and stock flywheel so driving would at least be tolerable. If you want performance clutch, then of course thats the consequence of it.
