 Transmission swap 1.8 to 2.2, Is it possible? |

Hi, i have two Toyota celica's 6th gen sitting with me. Both are 1994. one is the ST with 1.8 motor and other is the GT-S with 2.2.
The problem is that the transmission on 2.2 is bad. So, my question is that can i put in the transmission of my 1.8 into 2.2? |

Only way I'd want the GT would be to drop in a 1MZ-FE, at least then I can justify the drop in mpg.
 The ST is fast enough for what I need, surprised me at first to be honest. Point is, they're all better than the other 4 cylinder cars from other manufacturers.
