Today at work I had my mind blown. I work in a doctors office and many of the doctors have really nice cars. I started talking to the one doctor about his car. Its an audi s5 and he had it built to his liking. I was telling him how beautiful I thought it was. Later, he went out to put the top up before it started to rain so I ran out and asked him if he could pop his hood for me so I could see the engine. He looked at me with a shameful face and said "sure, but I have no idea how to pop it" he than gave me his manual and asked me to help him. I popped it and admired it for a little while. Then, One of the other doctors came out and asked us what we were doing and talked to us a bit. Later, the doctor that came out to talk to us came to me and said he was jealous I didn't ask to see his engine so I said "sure, I'd love to see it".He has a mercedes E350. As we start walking to his car he tells me "btw, I don't know how to pop my hood either" I just couldn't believe it. He took a few minutes to try and figure it out but I just walked over and popped it for him. I told another doctor my disbelief that they couldn't pop their hood. That doctor, a third doctor laughed and said "I can't pop mine". I was shocked. I mean I understand these are brand new cars but I just imagined that popping a hood was a simple task and after spending that much money you may just want to simply admirer your engine.
Anyway, I just wanted to share because I thought maybe someone else could appreciate how shocked I was that these people have these beautiful cars and have never looked at their engine. They also have never washed their own cars. If I spent that much money on a car I know for sure no one else would be washing it or touching it and that I would be washing it often. Any thoughts? -------------------- |

Would be nice if the car you had was based on your knowledge of them. I could at least make it into the $50,000 car range.

Would be nice if the car you had was based on your knowledge of them. Brilliant! For example, can't test-drive a 911 unless you can explain snap oversteer. That would weed out 99% of the buyers, and leave the enthusiasts. Or you can't have a Celica unless you wax lyrical about how much better it is than almost every other FF import of the era. Can't have any Ferrari until you can explain exactly at which point during the drive the "fizz" occurs for you; that'll weed out the rappers and rich playboys.
