sup 6GC. I got my first car, my celica, sometime last march. my dad has been a mechanic for 30 years & the original owner brought it to his shop one day wanting to scrap it, my dad took the keys & the title & brought her home. the original owner only drove it on the weekends so she only has 80k miles on her. i didnt even have my permit yet. she sat in my garage for around 7 months while i got a job & got my permit & license.
back in december my first mod was an intake. even before i could drive her i got attached. recently i was hit by a 16 year old girl on my way home with my little sister. my dad & I always wanted to do a gt-four front conversion but never had the extra money. i posted a thread about the accident & people suggested we do it now. shout out to Tigawoods & Box for helping me out. the insurance adjuster's estimate was $2700, but then a month later they decided they were only gonna pay 70%, or $1900. we bought a whole gt-four front nose. when the package got to the shop we unloaded it & didnt see this until we got it in the shop because it was facing the inside wall of the truck. you can see there is a good size hole in the package from the shipping company. there was a few dents in the hood right where the hole was. my dad & I are doing the project ourselves. body work, paint, the whole nine. here's where the serious progress starts. there's minor frame damage where she was hit. the insurance adjuster is coming out again to see it because it wasnt on the estimate. we banged out the dents on the hood today & started sanding it down for primer. we also are gonna replace the driver's side rear quarter panel because it's rusted out, & shoot the whole car red again. to those who are interested, i will keep you guys updated! well the celica is pretty light weight! 2600 lbs. remove all the unnecessary bs like spare, rear seats and even the compressor and passenger seats and your left with 2300. i do like your shop lifts. small and compact, unlike post lifts, always getting in the way |
