okay okay, i know i have to search and i did.
found lots and lots on how to replace a clutch.
and i'm just wondering, as ive swaped a whole drive train before,
just not the trans. if i am swapping just the trans what is the easiest way to do it,
step by step.

I can't wait to be back in the game (;

--P.S. what transmissions can i mate to the 5s?
6gen parts are hard to come by where i live, i see some 5th gens now and then.
but hopefully i'd like to keep it in the same ball park. so if anyone has a trans for sale
near 15825 in pennsylvania .

Remove the airbox and disconnect everything from the top of the transmission. The starter, VSS plug, shift linkage, ground wires and whatever else. Remove the axles from the transmission.
Unbolt the front and rear motormount, as they actually attach to the transmission. Remover the crossmember that they are attached too. Now remove all the bellhousing to Engine block bolts. There may be 13 of them but Im not sure.
Lastly you want to support the engine with a jack and the transmission with a hoist. Make sure they are firmly supported. Remove the Driverside transmission mount. the transmission will now slide sideways from the motor till the clutch clears and can then drop out the bottom of the car.
Installation is reverse of removal.
