So when I bought my celica the motor on the power antenna didn't work and they had a wire clothes hanger on something jammed into it to fix the broken mast. I decided to just relocate the antenna all together so far I have about $80 involved in this upgrade but I messed up one of the adapters so I have to buy a new one. ( disclaimer: I don't know if this will work on a car without a sun roof)

If you buy a universal you may not need any. But as I stated u bought one for a KIA Optima which takes a weird plug (very similiar to a GM mini antenna adapter) my antenna had a female end and wouldn't you know that's also what plugs into our stock antenna. I paid some guy at a local car audio place $25 to splice a universal end onto the antenna and then I had to buy a male to male extension online. Was less that 10 dollars. If you get a universal shark I would think at most you would need that male to male which buy the way was what I broke. I accidentally pulled the end of after testing the reception before mounting because I didn't realize I was standing on it
