i have an at200 96 celica. it has a 7afe stock engine and im planning on swapping a black top 4age engine on it.. here in the U.S. if your car is in the year 1996 and up are required to get emission test. without that car wouldnt be street legal. my question is that anybody here that has a 96 celica at200 with a black top 4age that lives in the U.S and requires that your car need emission testing? if so how do you guys pass the testing with no check engine light on ? thanks in advance hopefully you guys can help me

first off, why the 4A-GE? the 4A-GZE is still a downgrade IMO. with the information that out there you need to consider a newer engine. one that has more than 4 cylinders.

It's a lot better than the 7A... I agree, buy a car with more cylinders and preferably puts the power to the correct wheels.

Well said, Ditch your car and get a bigger engine, or a much much faster car.
